Breastfeeding Pumping – Recommended Pumps – Part 2

As I  have mentioned in the previous post (Part 1), there are a number of different breastpumps on the market.  So many, in fact, that it can be very confusing.  The type of breastpump you purchase depends on a few different factors such as how often you will be using it (ex. several times/day or just occasionally), whether you want to pump one or both breasts at the same time, whether you want it to be battery-operated, plug-in or manually-operated.

In this post, the breastpump that I will provide you with further information on is called the Harmony Manual Breastpump.  Once again, it is made by Medela.  I do like Medela products, because this is a company that specializes in breastpumps and nursing supplies for moms.  It is a manual pump, meaning that it does not run on batteries or electricity.  This would make it best for moms who are mostly nursing their babies and are not sure if they will need to pump or it will be used only occasionally.   It is made with a trademarked two-phase expression pumping, which has been shown to decrease the amount of time spent pumping.  You find two-phase expression in hospital-grade breastpumps, and its mode of pumping is similar to how a baby nurses.  The way it is designed should allow for faster initiation of the milk ejection reflex.  It is used to pump one breast at a time.  Is it BPA and DEHP free.

The Harmony Manual Breastpump can be purchased at either of these two links: Harmony Personal Use Manual Breastpump or at Great deals and low prices on breastpumps, nursing bras and more at NursingMotherSupplies.com. .

In more upcoming posts, I will discuss more breastpumps.  At first, it can be difficult to tell the difference between breastpumps, but hopefully you are finding these posts helpful in determining what type of pump best meets your needs.
