Breastfeeding Pumping – Recommended Pumps – Part 4

In the last several posts, I have been providing information on various breastpumps, all single pumps so far.  In this post,  I want to discuss two types of double pumps, which are pumps that allow you to pump one, or both breasts simultaneously.

The first breastfeeding pump is the Medela Pump-in-Style.  The design used for this pump is the same that was researched for hospital-grade pumps, and comes closest to the hospital-grade pumps.   It uses the “2-phase Expression Technology” that some of the other Medela single pumps also use.  The first phase of this technology  stimulates let-down by first using quick sucking that a baby initially uses when at the breast to stimulate let-down.  The second phase then involves the expression of the milk in a pattern that is similar to the rhythmic sucking that a baby uses when the milk is flowing.

The Pump-in-Style breastpump is an electric pump that can be plugged in or used with batteries.  It is BPA and DEHP-free.  It comes as a shoulder bag or backpack for increased portability.  You can purchase this pump from:Medela Pump in Style Breast Pump with Shoulder Bag or Great deals and low prices on breastpumps, nursing bras and more at NursingMotherSupplies.com. .

The next double breastpump that I want to discuss is the Ameda breastpump.  Like the Medela Pump-in-Style, it is meant for moms who need to pump every day, and several times per day.  Both pumps are great for use at work, and although they are portable, they are a bit cumbersome.   If you want a more discreet, porbable pump, the Swing Breastpump may be suitable for your needs.  On the up side, the double breastpumps I am discussing on this post allow you to pump both breasts simultaneously which may save some moms a lot of time. The Ameda pump also uses hospital-grade technology, but is meant for personal use by moms.  It has adjustable suction and cycle controls.  You can use it with batteries, plug it in, or use the car adapter. It is also BPA-free. For further information on this pump, you can see or purchase it at either of these two locations:Ameda Purely Yours Carry All Breast Pump Traveler Backpack

One last thing that I want to mention to you that I know you will find really useful if you are double pumping is the pumping bra which allows hands-free pumping!! It is available at Shop for Pumping Bras at Nursing Mother Supplies..
